The ideal solution when renovating
CIAT has designed new air-to water and water-to-water high temperature heat pumps (65°C) that can efficiently replace oil or gas-fired boilers.
Thanks to the new vapour injection compressor technology, these heat pumps are ideal when a high water supply temperature of more than 55°C is needed to supply emitters.
These heat pumps allow you to modernise an existing installation; it is no longer necessary to replace your radiators, the heat pumps can be easily adapted to most existing terminal units (radiators, radiant floors, fan coil units, etc.) and maintain a constant level of comfort.
This type of heat pump, which for the air-to-water versions operate down to an outdoor temperature of -20°C, can be used independently to heat the entire home all year round and even produces the domestic hot water for the household (SANI 300L hot water tank optional).
Last, but not least, they significantly lower energy consumption and pollutant emissions because they generate 3 to 4 times less CO2 than 1kW produced by a fossil fuel boiler
The efficient running of air-to-water heat pumps depends on two different factors.
The temperature of the water circuit used to supply the heating emitters.
The temperature of the outdoor air (air-to-water heat pumps), which varies both according to the heating period but also to the geographical location of the building to be heated.
The choice for the first factor remains with the installer.
For radiators, the starting temperature of the water will often be higher than 55°C unless low temperature radiators are installed.
As for the second factor, water-to-air heat pumps are clearly intended for regions with a mild climate and they should not be installed at high altitude.
Nevertheless, the use of a backup heating system is unavoidable for colder days and should be anticipated. This system will generally be electrical but all other types of heating can be used.
